As we think about the civil rights movement this week, and about equality, it is important to know that not everyone has equal access to clean water. But all humans need and deserve access to clean water. Through clean water, human life is sustained.
Over 3 million people die every year as a result of water related diseases.
780 million people lack access to clean water.
1,656 fewer children die everyday, than died in 2009, around the world through the work of bringing clean water to places that lacked it before. Unfortunately, every hour 171 children still die from water related diseases.
Two charities that help bring water to people are water.org and charitywater.org. Both groups are doing great work. But there is still much to be done.
Will you help?
